A new Fitness Olympia champion will be crowned at the 2022 Olympia. 2021 Fitness Olympia Champion Whitney Jones has withdrawn from the 2022 Olympia. According to a post on her Instagram page, the reason for Jones’ withdrawal was undisclosed health issues that required her full attention.
Jones confirmed his decision BarpentBodybuilding contributor, Roger Lockridge, onsite at the 2022 Olympia.

I faced some unfortunate health issues that required my full attention…and after discussions with the IFBB Pro League, Mr. Olympia LLC and the Wings of Strength team, this difficult decision was made.
Jones is a three-time Fitness Olympia champion. She won back-to-back titles in 2018 and 2019 before dropping the title to Missy Truscott in 2020 – Jones finished third behind runner-up Oksana Krishina. Jones reclaimed her Fitness Olympia crown in 2021 with 22 points – five points better than second-placed Truscott and 32 points better than third-placed Krishina.
Olympia will be a bit different…I won’t join everyone this year.
The fitness category is a separate category at the Olympia that scores athletes on their performances in addition to their physiques and appearance routines. Two-thirds of the athletes’ scores are “regular round”. The 2022 Fitness Olympia practices will take place on Friday, December 16, 2022 during the sectional finals at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood.

Truscott, Krishina and Garcia are former Olympia champions in the line-up and have strong chances to ascend to the Fitness Olympia throne. Nineteen athletes stand in their way. If anyone other than the aforementioned trio wins the 2022 Fitness Olympia, they will become the 14th champion in the division’s history.
